Job Description:

I'm working with a leading University in the South of England that is looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator (Windows).

The role focuses on managing and developing core IT services, especially Windows Server Environments, Active Directory, Office 365, and backup/disaster recovery solutions. It also involves technical leadership and service improvement within the IT infrastructure team.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:

• Microsoft 365 (Office 365) - administration, support, and development
• Exchange / Exchange Online - proven experience migrating on-premise Exchange to Exchange Online
• Backup systems and disaster recovery processes
• Experience working in or with the higher education sector

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• Collaborative team player with a customer-focused mindset
• Degree in IT (or equivalent experience) or MCSE certification
• Hands-on experience with at least three of the following: Exchange, ADFS, Azure AD, Citrix, Office 365, patching, email security
• Familiarity with ITIL or structured service environments
