Job description

What you'll be doing?

Supporting the business and divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board to support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, Legal, and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialized function - Barratt Partnerships.

Reporting to the Director of Information Security, you will support the delivery of the group’s information security strategy and operational controls. This includes leading Security Operations, Security Incident Response, Security Tooling, and Security Architecture. You will manage user awareness processes and contribute to strategy development for all areas in scope for Information Security at Barratt Redrow.

You will be expected to:

  1. Own and manage Security Operations, Security Tooling, User Awareness, and Threat and Vulnerability Management, including Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting.
  2. Drive performance in information security, challenging business strategies and engaging stakeholders to enhance security posture.
  3. Manage the Information Security team, including Security Operations, Security Architecture, and Security Analysts responsible for Tooling and User Awareness.
  4. Oversee responses to all Security incidents and events, minimizing impact.
  5. Manage controls in cyberspace, including Security Toolsets and reporting through meaningful KPIs and KRIs.
  6. Promote a security-aware culture across the business, engaging with executive and SLT stakeholders.
  7. Manage security risks and collaborate with internal and external audit teams.
  8. Maintain or improve NIST scores and other standards such as CE+.
  9. Support the development and implementation of the Security Strategy and ISMS.
  10. Engage with senior leadership to increase visibility and feedback on security controls.
  11. Manage vendor relationships for security tools and services.
  12. Update and manage security awareness training programs and metrics.
  13. Assess and ensure external parties’ security compliance.
  14. Manage security incidents to protect data and assets.
  15. Support adherence to Access Control Policies.
  16. Deputise for the Director of Information Security when needed.

What you'll need

To succeed, candidates should have:

  1. Experience managing Cyber Security or Security Operations in a large, distributed company, preferably FTSE 100.
  2. Strong leadership qualities within an IT/Cyber environment.
  3. Strategic capability with a 3-5 year roadmap aligned with business and IT strategies.
  4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with senior leadership.
  5. Proven experience developing security policies and executing programs in fast-paced environments.
  6. Effective people development and performance management skills.
  7. Ability to deliver insightful KPIs/KRIs.
  8. Experience managing complex vendor environments.
  9. Broad industry sector experience bringing fresh insights.
  10. High energy, resilience, and influencing skills.
  11. Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
