Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity within the Information Governance team for a Senior Information Governance Officer on a permanent basis, 37.5 hours per week. We are looking for a dynamic, caring and highly skilled Senior Information Governance Officer to join our busy information governance team supporting the Trust in the development, establishment and management of its trust-wide Information Governance Framework.

As well as delivering an information governance programme, you will be expected to work closely with all Trust Services to minimise risk, by handling information governance requests in accordance with policy and procedure and ensuring best practice is adopted Trust-wide.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be methodical and process-oriented, be thoroughly conversant with the use of Microsoft Office and Trust Clinical Systems and be reliable and able to work under pressure. There is a strong requirement for knowledge of the duty of confidentiality and a working awareness of data protection legislation. A positive and confident approach to our patients, carers, professional colleagues, and team working will also be required.

Main duties of the job

You will predominantly be based at home with some base travel required to attend meetings or deliver training. Duties include monitoring the Information Governance in-box, reviewing and assessing data breaches, completing Data Protection Impact Assessments, delivering mandatory training to staff, completion of statutory Data Security and Protection Toolkit, supporting on the completion of Information Sharing Agreements and ensuring all Information Governance and Records materials are fit for purpose and reviewed in line with current legislation.

This post also has line management responsibility for the B4 Information Governance Officer.
