Job description

It’s an exciting time to join the Incident Response team, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform and deliver new digital services to our customers and streamline and automate our business processes. To help us manage our Cybersecurity Incidents, whilst performing forensic investigations and providing cyber threat intelligence services, we’re looking for a talented individual with strong analytical skills to join this growing team.

You'll report into the Detection and Response Manager, playing a pivotal role in protecting what matters. By liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and providing expert recommendations and support, you'll help protect AXA UK from the latest cyber threats.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as the Subject Matter Expert for UK wide security incidents, ensuring incidents are managed in accordance with UK and Group incident management requirements.
  • Working with UK and Global colleagues to help build a better and securer AXA.
  • Enabling appropriate DFIR services in the UK to meet the requirements for all jurisdictions.
  • Providing recommendations and advise to security led projects which help facilitate changes and improvements in AXA UK’s security posture.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of the UK Detection and Response function, including, but not limited to, testing and execution of the AXA UK Security Incident Management Policy, Plans, Procedures, and Playbooks.

Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience of security incident handling, with ability to clearly identify key issues.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of relevant computer forensics, incident response and e-discovery tools, including password recovery, EDR, NDR, UEBA, honeypots, data loss prevention, SIEM, and Log Managers.
  • Demonstrate hands-on skills in a major scripting/programming language or a search query language for use in security operations and threat detection.
  • Knowledge of regulatory processes in evidence-handling procedures.
  • Relevant professional qualifications e.g. SANS, EnCE, CCIM desirable but not essential.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, particularly in preparing reports for counsel or senior decision makers.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

What we offer:

At AXA UK, we’re appreciative of the people who work for us and our rewards package is reviewed regularly to reflect that. You can expect to receive:

  • Competitive annual salary of up to £70,000 dependent on experience
  • Annual company & performance-based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10 x annual salary)
  • Private health cover
  • 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
  • Wellbeing services & resources
  • AXA employee discounts
