Job summary

Capital One UK is seeking an experienced in-house commercial contracts solicitor to support the UK Legal Team. You will draft and negotiate a range of supplier contracts, including outsourcing, SaaS, and technology agreements, while advising on legal and regulatory risks.

The role reports to the Head of UK Contracts, and you will mentor junior lawyers, manage workloads, and collaborate with stakeholders across Capital One UK and the US parent company.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of data protection law and related risks.
• In-house experience preferred, ideally in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and negotiate services, outsourcing, software licenses, NDAs, and termination agreements.
• Manage contract workstreams across business areas and advise on legal risks.
• Mentor junior team members in negotiation, drafting, and legal research.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders including suppliers and business managers.
