Capital One UK is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Contracts to join our Nottingham-based legal team. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating complex supplier contracts, including SaaS and outsourcing, while managing multiple workstreams and advising on regulatory risk.

The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor with PQE in commercial law, with strong in‑house or financial services experience, and a collaborative approach to cross‑functional work.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with substantial post‑qualification experience (PQE) in commercial law.
• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, with in‑house or financial services experience preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of data protection law and regulatory risk, including AI terms, IP and TUPE.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex supplier contracts including SaaS, outsourcing and technology agreements.
• Manage workstreams with internal stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery and compliance.
• Advise on legal and regulatory risk and collaborate with specialists as needed.
• Mentor junior team members in contract negotiation, legal research and workload management.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and monitor contract policies.
