Job summary

The appointee will, together with 2 other Consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality clinical Immunology service at Salford Royal Hospital, the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA).

Duties include all aspects of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, with potential honorary ties to the Greater Manchester Immunology laboratory for limited regional involvement.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise (or be eligible within six months of interview)
• CCT or within six months of award by interview
• Evidence of UK/overseas equivalence to the UK CCT for non-UK trained applicants
• FRCPath or equivalent
• MRCP or equivalent
• Registration on the GMC Specialist Register-CCT or within 6 months of obtaining CCT

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop allergy and immunology services, manage referrals, and contribute to service triage.
• Support accreditation for immunodeficiency and allergy.
• Conduct weekly clinics for investigation and management of immunodeficiency and allergy in adults.
• Supervise long-term treatment and care of patients with immune deficiency and allergy.
• Oversee day-care activities including immunoglobulin replacement therapy, allergen immunotherapy, and challenge testing.
• Advise on inpatient care in collaboration with other specialties.
• Contribute to clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Supervise and support specialist nursing team and provide teaching to nurses, trainees and medical students.
• Support quality improvement to achieve QPIDS and IQAS accreditation
