HFG are looking for an experienced Senior IFRS 17 Accountant to join our team at a Lloyd's insurer. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting and IFRS 17, and will be responsible for the accurate and timely implementation and application of IFRS 17 standards across our organisation.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of IFRS 17 standards across the organisation, ensuring compliance with the standard and best practice.
  • Provide accurate and timely IFRS 17 reporting to key stakeholders, including management, regulators and external auditors.
  • Work closely with the wider finance and actuarial teams to understand the impact of IFRS 17 on the business and identify key issues and risks.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, business teams and external advisors.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and changes to IFRS 17 standards, ensuring that the organisation remains compliant and best practice is followed.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • In-depth understanding and experience of IFRS 17 standards, with the ability to interpret and implement them at a practical level.
  • Strong experience of financial accounting and reporting, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to forge strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and deliver work to tight deadlines.
