Job summary

SumUp is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to influence IFRS adoption across 37 markets. You will shape statements, assess complex standards, and distill findings into practical guidance for finance teams.

Based in London with a global scope, the role requires deep IFRS expertise, strong research instincts, and the ability to communicate implications clearly to senior leadership and auditors.

Qualifications

• Deep IFRS expertise with complex, non-routine transactions.
• Ability to research, distill findings, and present clear conclusions.
• Experience interpreting standards for business impact and reporting.
• Background in Big 4 audit or large listed company accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead adoption and application of IFRS standards and assess their impact on reports.
• Research complex accounting questions and translate them into technical positions.
• Review significant transactions for accounting implications with Legal, FP&A, Tax.
• Own and evolve the Accounting Manual into practical guidance for finance teams.
• Serve as escalation point for technical accounting questions across the organization.
