Job summary

The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust seeks a substantive consultant intensivist to join the Critical Care Department. This post is a replacement following retirement with a possible fixed-term locum route up to 12 months.

The role focuses on intensive care medicine for two sites, with an annualised contract and 10 programmed activities. Applicants require full GMC registration and a CCT or CESR(CP) in intensive care medicine, or be within six months of achieving one at interview.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• CCT or CESR(CP) in intensive care medicine, or within six months of interview.
• Experience and breadth in intensive care medicine with ability to take independent responsibility.
• Experience teaching undergraduates and postgraduates.
• Evidence of participation in quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 7.5 PAs of direct clinical care as a consultant intensivist.
• Undertake up to 2.5 PAs of supporting professional activities, reviewed annually.
• Keep clinical sessions in a base specialty where vacancies allow (e.g., anaesthesia, acute medicine, emergency medicine, respiratory medicine or nephrology).
