Senior ICT Technician - Permanent Role | Secondary School in Greater Manchester

Location: Greater Manchester - North Manchester
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: Band 6 SCP 18-22 (£29,269 - £31,364 per annum, pro-rata)
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent (Term Time + 10 Days)

Aspire People are working in partnership with a vibrant and rapidly improving secondary school in Greater Manchester to recruit an experienced and proactive Senior ICT Technician to join their friendly and forward-thinking team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic ICT professional who thrives in a fast-paced educational environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and ongoing development of the school's ICT systems, supporting both curriculum and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality ICT support to staff and students.
- Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the school's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, servers, and network systems.
- Work collaboratively with external ICT support partners to resolve more complex issues.
- Monitor and maintain system performance, security, and backup procedures.
- Support the use of technology in teaching and learning, including classroom AV equipment and devices.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and solutions, contributing to effective system documentation.

The ideal candidate will:
- Have relevant ICT qualifications and/or experience in a similar school-based or technical role.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Windows networks, Office 365, server management, and device support.
- Be a confident problem solver with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Have experience working with users of varying ICT skill levels, especially in an educational setting.
- Show initiative, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting the wider school community.
