Job description

PHSO is an independent national ombudsman service. We make final decisions on complaints that have not been resolved by the NHS in England, UK government departments, and some other public organisations. We do this fairly and without taking sides. Our service is free.

About the role

We are expanding our ICT team and are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our digital transformation, managing projects related to business process redesign, data, and technology refresh. Experience with public-facing services, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft 365, and Smarter Working is desirable.

Job Description
  • Lead the delivery of ICT programmes or projects.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of the ICT team's roadmap, promoting the work across PHSO and aligning with ICT's vision and objectives.
  • Manage and report on project progress, taking corrective actions as needed to stay on track and within budget.
  • Ensure adherence to Portfolio Management Office standards to deliver quality products/services.
  • Engage in networking to enhance professional awareness and skills.
  • Resolve conflicts and propose solutions, negotiating agreements and implementing remedial plans.
  • Track and manage benefits throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Define communication strategies for stakeholders and other audiences.
  • Manage communication and address failures with remedial actions.
  • Collaborate with Communications teams for effective project communication.
  • Manage suppliers, including contracts and procurement.
