The ideal candidate should have a natural flair for technology, a strong willingness to learn, and a passion for providing exceptional service to our customers to join an expanding team supporting schools in and around Buckinghamshire.

This role involves supporting a Trust of primary schools where you will act as the liaison between your schools and Turn IT On, ensuring they are informed about the products and services we provide, and managing customer accounts. Responsibilities include maintaining IT hardware and software across school sites, helping improve ICT provision, and enabling effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.

To be suitable for this role, you should have a passionate interest in IT and a solid technical background, be self-driven, and enthusiastic about offering exceptional customer service. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for liaising regularly with the school’s senior management team.

Our ideal candidate should have at least 2-3 years of experience working as a Senior ICT Technician or in a 2nd/3rd support role within the education sector, although this is not essential. You should be capable of working independently, troubleshooting effectively, and proactively seeking ways to enhance our services.

Responsibilities include:
  • Handling 2nd/3rd line issues, responding to ICT emergencies and school complaints.
  • Resolving and managing technical issues impacting school operations by providing robust solutions.
  • Providing internal network support.
  • Supporting and mentoring 1st/2nd support roles.
  • Enforcing and monitoring policies in line with school regulations.
  • Providing internal staff training.
  • Leading installation or repair of computers with standardized applications and networking software, diagnosing and solving operational problems.
  • Managing a wide range of technical duties related to the computer network and desktop services, including upgrades and installations of hardware such as desktops, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns, and hardware.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of Virtualization Technologies, especially HyperV.
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies such as Office365/Azure.
  • Leadership experience in server and network installations.
  • Proactive decision-making skills during ICT emergencies.
  • Excellent customer service skills with positive, proactive communication, both verbal and written.
  • Flexible, adaptable, friendly, and approachable.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently, plan, and organize effectively.

The role is full-time, full-year. The successful candidate will undergo enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks. Due to the location, a driving license and own vehicle are required.

Salary ranges from £30,000 to £35,000, negotiable for the right candidate. Benefits include pension scheme, electric/hybrid car scheme, cycle scheme, eye care vouchers, mental health first aid, employee assistance, and recognition programs.
