Job summary

Hudson Shribman in North London is seeking a skilled hyperMILL CNC Programmer / CAD CAM Engineer to join the engineering team. The role focuses on offline programming using hyperMILL, with additional mechanical design and support for manufacturing processes.

You will contribute to design for manufacture, optimize machining methods, and collaborate across production and engineering to resolve technical issues. Experience in aerospace/defence/high-precision contexts is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in CNC programming using hyperMILL.
• Strong CAD/CAM programming skills within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of CNC milling processes, cutting tools and machining strategies.
• Experience interpreting complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Knowledge of machining tolerances, materials and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Produce and develop CNC milling programs using hyperMILL CAD/CAM software.
• Create and optimise machining strategies for precision-engineered components.
• Develop CNC programs for 3-axis and multi-axis milling applications, where required.
• Review engineering drawings, CAD models and customer specifications to establish manufacturing requirements.
• Undertake mechanical design and CAD modelling work as required.
• Review component designs and provide technical input on manufacturability.
• Support engineering reviews of machined components and sheet metal assemblies.
• Work closely with CNC machinists, production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Improve machining methods, tooling strategies, cycle times and manufacturing efficiency.
• Contribute to design for manufacture (DFM) and continuous improvement activities.
