A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Senior Hydrologist / Hydraulic Modeller to enhance water resource management and contribute to important flood risk projects. The successful candidate will utilize their expertise in hydraulic modelling and project management within a multidisciplinary team. You will work primarily from the Bristol office, engaging in various assessments and designs aimed at improving water quality and resilience against climate change.
Stantec's market-leading Environmental Services group supports clients in the environmental, geotechnical, and water sectors. We work with businesses and water companies across the UK and occasionally internationally.
You will join a friendly team of over 80 Hydrologists, Hydrogeologists, Water Resources Planners and Water Quality Scientists as part of our wider Water Environment Team. These team projects include enhancing the resilience of the public water supply and reducing the impact of wastewater treatment infrastructure on the water environment, with opportunities to contribute to flood risk modelling, sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) Modelling, and nature-based solutions.

Although the remit is national, this role will ideally be based in either our Bristol and Cardiff offices or Leeds and Newcastle.
About YouYou will ideally have skills in hydraulic and hydrological Modelling, factual and interpretative reporting, data management, analysis, and presentation of results. You will hold a degree in a relevant subject, such as environmental science, civil engineering, geography, or another related discipline with a strong hydrology or hydraulics focus. You should have several years’ experience in hydrology, flood risk and/or drainage, with a preference for a consultancy background.
