On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Senior Hydraulic Modeller for a 6-month contract. The position can be based in Cardiff or Bristol.

Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience

Purpose of the role:

We are looking for flood hydraulic modellers and technical specialists to play a key role in delivering flood risk management business cases and design projects. We seek individuals passionate about rivers, flooding, and the environment.
We specialise in delivering innovative solutions on both a local and catchment scale, founded on nature-based systems and low-carbon technology.

What you'll do:

• Be a senior hydraulic modeller with curiosity, personal drive, and technical expertise. Be inspired by the problems we are solving and excited to deliver solutions as part of the team.
• Experience in the water and environment sector is preferred.
• If you have some or all of these skills and experience, and a willingness and passion to work in our team, we'd like to hear from you. We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:

The skills you'll need:

• Masters or Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., civil engineering, geography)
• Working towards professional accreditation
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software (Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW) and GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS)
• Experience in training and supporting junior hydraulic modellers
• Experience writing technical hydraulic modelling reports
• A desire to learn, collaborate, and produce high-quality work you are proud of.
