Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Bridge Hydraulics and Scour Engineer to join our bridge engineering team. The successful candidate will lead and support hydraulic analysis and scour evaluation for bridge and culvert projects, ensuring resilient and compliant infrastructure across diverse environments. This position can be based out of any of our New England offices (Manchester, NH; Portsmouth, NH; Burlington, VT; Yarmouth, ME; or Chelmsford, MA).

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and conduct hydraulic studies for bridge and culvert projects, including river, stream, and floodplain crossings.
  2. Perform detailed scour analyses for new and existing bridge structures and recommend appropriate scour protection measures.
  3. Utilize hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SRH-2D) and GIS-based project mapping tools for analysis and design.
  4. Prepare technical reports, calculations, maps, and documentation for regulatory submittals and project records.
  5. Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including structural engineers, environmental scientists, and construction staff.
  6. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance.
Requirements:
  • BS or MS degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • PE Licensure.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
