A leading engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Designer for a short-term contract. This role entails designing HVAC systems for an onshore oil and gas terminal project, working within a collaborative team to ensure functionality and compliance with industry standards. Ideal candidates will possess extensive knowledge of HVAC design and relevant standards, alongside proficiency in E3D modelling.

Job Description

Experienced HVAC Designer required for short term contract, working on behalf of our client, a global design, engineering and construction contractor, based in Surrey.

The successful candidate will be joining the existing team working on an onshore oil & gas terminal project.

Job description:

Responsible for HVAC design work including the skills to draft air flow diagrams; D P&IDs, HVAC GAs using PDMS Draft (or E3D Draw); and 3D PDMS/E3D modelling of all HVAC system components, ductwork, in-lines fittings and support.

Designing the installation details for Piping, Electrical, Instruments, Architectural and Structural interconnections for HVAC equipment & ductwork

Develop HVAC 3D Model.

Perform Clash checks within the model

Work with HVAC engineers to produce air flow diagrams and ducting flow diagrams

Carry out investigations and studies on design related issues.

Produce duct layout isometric views.

Co-ordinate HVAC systems, components and ductwork with multi disciplines to ensure project functionality requirements are being met.

Attend client and design team coordination meetings

Participate in E3D model reviews for HVAC system constructability, mechanical handling and maintenance aspects.

Set up ductwork specification within E3D

Co-ordinate and discuss HVAC construction standards and methods with engineers, clients and the shipyard contractor.

Essential skills:

Experience of HVAC Design for the onshore oil and gas industry.

Working knowledge of industry standards for HVAC equipment Including ASHRAE, CIBSE, ISO 15138

Participation in E3D model reviews for HVAC system constructability, mechanical handling and all maintenance aspects.

Job Details:

Contract duration: c. 2 months+

Location: Surrey - some remote working is possible.

Rate: c. £50-55 ph (Ltd rate)

Working hours: 37.5-40 hrs per week.

Start date: ASAP
