Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work on HV substation projects across the UK and Ireland, including battery storage and renewables. You’ll develop plant layouts, write equipment specs, and contribute to major infrastructure programs from concept to energisation.

Based in the UK or Ireland with a flexible hybrid model, you’ll be part of a collaborative Transmission and Distribution team delivering cutting-edge energy projects and providing expert input across

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and chartered status preferred.
• Experience on HV projects and with major utilities or developers.
• Experience as designer or project engineer and developing substation specs.

Responsibilities

• Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations.
• Produce equipment specifications for HV plant and related equipment.
• Provide engineering design input to major infrastructure projects.
• Undertake an Owners’ Engineer role on HV substation/cable and OHL projects.
• Provide HV design input to renewable energy projects (battery, solar, hydro, wind).
• Provide professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas.
