Job summary

BRUSH Group is seeking an HV Estimator based at the Hook office, operating in a hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 days at home). You will price HV projects mainly between 11 kV and 132 kV, from enquiry to bid submission, building cost models, analysing risk, and supporting delivery teams.

The role requires experience with HV pricing in DNO/IDNO contexts or as a principal-contractor, strong Excel skills, and the ability to read drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or electrical engineering degree desirable; extensive hands-on experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
• Ability to price from first principles and explain how the number was reached.
• Comfort reading drawings, SLDs and specifications to build a full cost model.
• Able to challenge numbers and capture assumptions clearly.
• Experience managing live tenders at various bid stages.
• Able to communicate work clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and data handling abilities.
• HV pricing experience in ICP/DNO/IDNO settings or as a principal-contractor.

Responsibilities

• Take a bid from enquiry to submission and build price from first principles.
• Read drawings/SLDs/specs and validate scope inclusions and exclusions.
• Price the scope: substations, routes, transformers, switchgear, civils, commissioning.
• Engage supply chain, check quotes, challenge discrepancies, maintain rate integrity.
• Identify risks and savings; document assumptions for governance.
• Assemble priced schedule, project summary, and internal approval pack.
• Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Procurement and Operations during pricing.
• Respond to bid queries and meet tender deadlines.
• Support post-tender meetings and handover to delivery team.
• Maintain compliance with BRUSH commercial, safety and quality standards.
