Location: Chester

Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Leave)

Hours: Full time - 36.5 hours per week

Our client, a prestigious public sector organisation based in Chester, is looking to appoint an experienced Senior HR Advisor to cover a period of maternity leave.

Reporting to an HR Business Partner, the Senior HR Advisor will support the HR team and partner with stakeholders, advising on generalist HR duties, including Employee Relations, HR MI, and Change Management.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide proactive HR advice on talent acquisition, performance management, reward, learning and development, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, and wellbeing.
• Represent HR at disciplinary and grievance hearings.
• Assist in developing recruitment and succession plans.
• Support and coach HR Advisers and Administrators.
• Produce employment letters, contracts, and liaise with Payroll.
• Ensure HR data accuracy for decision-making.
• Support organisation-wide HR projects and policies.
• Advise managers on organisational restructuring.

Key requirements:

• Experience as an HR generalist, ideally as an HR Advisor or similar.
• Confidence and experience in Employee Relations casework.
• Experience with Trade Unions is desirable but not essential.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Employment Law.
• Level 7 CIPD qualification and/or relevant experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to challenge the status quo.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
