Senior Human Factors Safety Assurance Consultant

Our client is a world-renowned consultancy that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. Their growing team of Human Factors specialists is looking for a talented Senior Human Factors Consultant to help deliver world-class solutions across high-hazard industries.

They work on some of the UK’s most complex engineering and safety challenges, providing Human Factors Integration (HFI) expertise to safety cases and engineering programmes in socio-technical environments.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Leading and managing Human Factors work packages with a focus on technical quality
2. Reviewing and quality-assuring deliverables, offering guidance to junior consultants
3. Building strong relationships with clients and identifying new business opportunities
4. Supporting bid development and the costing of Human Factors activities
5. Mentoring and supporting the growth of junior team members
6. Applying HFI, Human Reliability Assessment (HRA), and other specialist methodologies
7. Contributing to innovation and continuous improvement across the Human Factors community

What You’ll Bring:

1. Strong background in applying Human Factors to safety cases and substantiating Human-Based Safety Claims
2. Experience with HRA techniques such as HEART and THERP
3. Proven ability to communicate technical HF insights across multidisciplinary teams
4. A relevant degree in Human Factors, Psychology, Engineering, or Industrial Design
5. CIEHF Registered Member status or working towards chartership
6. Strong report writing and presentation skills
7. Knowledge of UK and international Human Factors standards and guidance
8. Experience in Defence or other regulated, high-hazard industries
9. Passion for continuous professional development and technical excellence
