Job description

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Job Description

Marie Curie is the UK's leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they're likely to die from.

The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life, through:

  • Growing and transforming our direct care and support
  • Delivering more practical information and support
  • Leading in shaping the end-of-life experience

Your role in our mission

We have an amazing opportunity for a Senior Hub Coordinator to join our London and home counties team. The central coordination hub supports Marie Curie nurses and healthcare assistants to deliver services in people's homes across the UK, providing hands-on care and vital emotional support. The role involves:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for all Marie Curie services in the region.
  • Collaborating with other senior coordinators and maintaining the efficient operation of the coordination hub. This involves liaising with clinical support teams, management staff, volunteers, referrers, local CHC teams, as well as the families and carers of patients during and after their care.
  • Overseeing and facilitating the referral process, coordinating and scheduling care, and ensuring precise data entry into operational and clinical systems such as EMIS, and SystemOne.

Job Structure: Permanent; Full time 37.5 Hours/Week; Shifts between 08:00 - 22:00 / 5 Days a week (Including Weekends)

Salary: AFC Pay Scale Band 3: £24,625 - £25,674 annually (pro-rated)

Based: Home Based - England

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in customer service, including answering customer questions, offering support, and ideally supervising team members to ensure customers are happy.
  • Strong IT and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A motivated, adaptable, and dependable professional with a positive attitude.
  • An understanding of the healthcare environment.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively

Marie Curie Benefits Package:

  • Defined contribution schemes for Pension (the charity will match your contribution up to 7.5%)
  • Marie Curie Group Personal Pension Scheme
  • Loan schemes for bikes; computers and satellite navigation systems
  • Help with eyecare cost (T & C's apply)
  • Entitled to Marie Curie Blue Light Card
  • Entitled to Benefit Hub Discount Scheme
  • Life assurance - for all employees

What's in it for you:

  • Annual leave allowance - 27 days plus 8 public holidays (pro-rated)
  • Competitive Policy for parental/sick Leave
  • Continuous Professional development - (Marie Curie supports and encourages personal and professional development)
  • Industry leading training programmes
