Job summary

NEP is seeking a Senior HSSE Advisor to join the Teesside team, supporting construction, operations and future projects across onshore and offshore assets within the UK’s carbon capture and storage program.

You will provide practical HSSE advice, develop and monitor management systems, carry out site inspections and audits, investigate incidents, review contractor performance and help maintain COMAH, environmental permitting and CDM compliance.

Qualifications

• Recognised HSSE qualification (NEBOSH) and a relevant degree or equivalent.
• Substantial HSSE advisory experience in high-hazard environments.
• Strong knowledge of HSSE management systems, risk management, auditing and incident investigation.
• Good understanding of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical HSSE advice and constructive challenge to project teams and stakeholders.
• Supporting development and continuous improvement of HSSE management systems, policies and procedures.
• Carrying out site inspections, audits and assurance activities to ensure risks are managed and actions closed out.
• Supporting risk assessments, incident investigations and sharing lessons learned.
• Reviewing contractor HSSE performance and supporting safe project delivery.
• Contributing to emergency response planning, exercises and business continuity arrangements.
• Advising on legislation and regulatory requirements including COMAH, environmental permitting and CDM where applicable.
• Building strong relationships across the business and deputising for the HSSE Manager when required.
