Job Description

The European Wind and Solar (E) business area is responsible for developing and owning wind and solar assets across Europe, managing large projects, procurement, and exploring new business opportunities.

The HSS team within Statkraft's Project Delivery Unit oversees health, safety, and security management throughout all project phases, developing and implementing HSS practices across activities, and providing expertise and resources.

We are expanding our UK operations and seek a Senior HSS Advisor based in London to strengthen our HSS team. The role involves periodic site visits across the UK and at London offices.

You will report to the HSS Manager UK and have a functional line to the HSS department at our headquarters in Oslo.

Your main responsibilities include:

  1. Representing HSS for the project portfolio, advising project managers on HSS matters from development to operations.
  2. Managing and coaching local HSS resources assigned to projects.
  3. Liaising with contractors' HSS staff during construction.
  4. Fostering a strong HSS culture, including project kick-offs.
  5. Participating in all project development and acquisition phases.
  6. Conducting HSS reviews, inspections, and audits.
  7. Ensuring consistent HSS reporting.
  8. Leading or participating in investigations of serious incidents.
  9. Supporting HSS activities across other projects outside the UK.
  10. Implementing efficient HSS processes in UK projects in line with Statkraft governance, collaborating with UK HSS teams.
  11. Engaging with authorities and participating in safety forums and technical committees.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in HSS within an industrial environment preferred.
  • IOSH & NEBOSH certifications.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience with large construction projects, ideally in renewable energy.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK HSS legislation and CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Result-oriented, structured, flexible, and able to foster good working relationships.
  • Team player capable of working independently and driving HSS improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
