Job description

With a healthy and growing pipeline of work, we are looking for an experienced and proven Senior HSE Manager to contribute to our HSE operations, strategies, coaching, and overall continuous improvement.

What you'll do :

  1. Lead our HSE Managers and the broader HSE team
  2. Implement an evolving strategic plan for the HSE vertical
  3. Risk management including safety in design, project planning, high-risk activity workshops, SWMS, SOPs, and PPE
  4. Oversee the HSE Management System, audits, and compliance (e.g. ISO and OFSC)
  5. Provide expertise and advice on legislative and regulatory matters pertaining to HSE
  6. Manage stakeholder relationships and issues raised by regulatory bodies, clients, and suppliers
  7. Ensure conformance for HSE Plans per project team by way of observations and inspections
  8. Partake in weekly HSE Walks and ensure raised issues are rectified by project teams
  9. Drive development of Hammertech for maximum effectiveness and efficiency
  10. Raise gaps and opportunities with the project team for improving training and competency
  11. Steer continuous improvement programs and initiatives
  12. Ensure effective handling of incident management, investigations, and reporting
  13. Contribute to environmental management and monitoring
  14. Steer client engagement and reporting requirements
  15. Involvement with tender submissions, providing HSE advice as required

About you :

  1. Genuine passion for safety
  2. Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or equivalent (Degree or Diploma)
  3. Current White Card
  4. Extensive HSE experience in the construction industry
  5. Background of leading medium-to-large scale HSE team operations
  6. Capacity to implement strategic plans and continuous improvement
  7. Thorough understanding of relevant regulations and standards
  8. Proven experience with conducting HSE assurance activities such as audits
  9. Understanding of OFSC requirements
  10. Advanced working knowledge of Hammertech (or equivalent system)
  11. Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, attention to detail, influencing, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
  12. Highly motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude
