Job summary

HSE Recruitment is seeking an experienced HSE Contractor to provide hands-on health, safety and environmental support at a large automotive site in Leicestershire. This COMAH lower-tier establishment requires practical risk assessments, compliance auditing and incident investigation to uphold high safety standards.

The role is a full-time, interim contract running for 2–3 months with a day rate of 400–450 GBP, inside IR35 via umbrella PAYE, starting ASAP.

Qualifications

• Hands-on HSE experience in a hands-on role within automotive or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessments, HSE documentation and compliance requirements.
• Experience identifying gaps in existing systems and implementing practical improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HSE support across the site, working closely with operational teams.
• Review, update and complete risk assessments and method statements where required.
• Review existing HSE documentation and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct gap analyses and develop practical action plans to address identified issues.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of effective health and safety procedures.
• Provide practical advice and guidance to managers and employees on HSE matters.
• Help ensure site activities comply with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Support ongoing site safety activities and assist with resolving outstanding HSE actions.
• Work independently, prioritising tasks and providing practical support from day one.
