Aventa is seeking, on behalf of our client—a leading developer in the offshore renewable energy sector—a Senior HSE Advisor to join their QHSE Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a team of skilled professionals on the Hornsea 3 Windfarm Project, contributing to one of the most significant offshore wind developments in the region.
Description & Responsibilities:
The HSE advisor promotes and provides professional expert knowledge and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors on safe work practices, safety standards, and legal regulations. Supports identification and elimination of potential hazards and ensures control measures are in place.

It is generally expected that the advisor applies advanced HSE skills, with experience within the subject area, fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures related to HSE, and knows how to routinely apply knowledge of theories, methods, techniques, and processes to the scope of work.
Typical tasks (not exhaustive):
• Drive and promote a proactive HSE culture through leading by example, cultural engagement, data use, awareness raising, knowledge sharing, and lessons learned (registration and implementation).
• Demonstrate and promote data-driven risk management through a proactive reporting culture and high-quality data management.
• Plan, facilitate, and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, briefings, safety walks, inspections, HAZID/HAZOP workshops, and cultural programs and campaigns.
• Review HSE documentation, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).
• Monitor and assess internal/external HSE compliance and performance using Ørsted incident reporting tools (Synergi).
• Coordinate and report on safety inspections, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and lessons learned.
• Liaise effectively with contractors at management and site levels to improve safety, health, and environmental culture.
• Participate in all relevant site HSE meetings and audits, follow up on findings, and support NCR implementation.
• Report LTIs to HSE organization as per process.
• Provide ad hoc advice on HSE issues in daily work.
• Ensure validity of own safety/training certificates and maintain competence levels.
Deliverables:
• Facilitation of regular HSE meetings with contractors and project representatives.
• Review of risk-assessed RAMS.
• Operational HSE assessments and inductions.
• Deliver HSE presentations and reports, including walk reports and incident entries in Synergi.
• Other deliverables as per project HSE risk management processes and framework.
Decision authority:
The QHSE function is not the sole owner of HSE performance; however, the HSE Advisor, as a subject matter expert, can contribute to decision-making based on their understanding of the business and interdependencies with other departments.

• Project & Construction Managers.
• Client representatives.
• Local regulators/authorities.
• Ørsted employees.
• Contractors at site.
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Proficiency in English.
• Relevant academic or technical background.
• 3-5 years’ experience in HSE, preferably in onshore renewables or offshore wind farm construction.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• IT literacy (Microsoft Office; knowledge of Synergi advantageous).
• Knowledge of root cause analysis and incident investigation.
• Experience dealing with third-party contractors regarding HSE.
• NEBOSH Level 3 or similar recognized HSE qualification.
• Valid site safety passport (CCNSG or CSCS).
• Valid UK driver’s license.
Desirable qualifications/experience:
• QHSE BSc, diploma, or equivalent level 6 qualification.
• NEBOSH or IEMA environmental management qualifications.
• Certified/auditor qualification.
• Experience delivering HSE training courses/materials.
• Prior Ørsted experience is a plus.
The candidate must comply with Ørsted’s training and medical requirements.
Working conditions / locations:
The role is initially onshore at Humberside Airport. Offshore work will commence once construction begins, requiring flexibility for offshore and occasional overseas visits.
• Typical shift: 5-day week (Monday – Friday), 8 hours/day.
• Flexibility for occasional remote work if authorized.
