Oxford School of Global and Area Studies, 12 Bevington Road, Oxford OX2 6LH The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies is offering an exciting opportunity to join as the Senior HR Officer and EDI Officer on a full-time (part-time at 80% will be considered) and permanent contract basis.
About the Role: This key role manages the HR functions within the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA). The HR team is part of five teams within OSGA’s friendly Professional Services team. The post-holder will ensure effective HR service delivery, supervise two Grade 5 HR officers, and collaborate closely with the Divisional HR team for additional support. Reporting to the Head of Administration and Finance (HAF), the role involves providing guidance on HR policies, employment relations, personnel matters, recruitment, work permits, and visas. The post-holder will lead all permanent academic recruitment for the School and act as the EDI Officer, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within OSGA, supporting EDI initiatives, and coordinating related activities. The School holds an Athena SWAN bronze award.
About You: You should be qualified or working toward CIPD graduate level or have equivalent experience, with experience in an HR role managing HR processes. Knowledge of UK employment law and UKVI regulations, experience with HR systems, report generation, and handling numbers confidently are essential. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach are required. HR experience within the University of Oxford or similar higher education institutions is desirable.
