Senior HR Business Partner (Fixed Term)

Are you passionate about supporting people and driving change? We're seeking an experienced HR professional to join our HR management team to deliver a strategic HR project to deliver effective change, agreed efficiencies and savings and drive business performance and improvement across the Council over the next 3 years. You will lead a team of HR Business Partners and take a strong partnership approach to work collaboratively with senior managers across all Council Directorates to secure and deliver the agreed HR project outcomes.

The role is critical in fostering collaboration and partnership with the broader HR partnering team, ensuring a unified and cohesive approach to delivering the strategic HR project. The role will have ownership of the planning and delivery of the agreed outcomes, while leveraging the expertise of the team to support the delivery of key strategic pieces of work across multiple HR programmes and activities.

This post is fixed term for up to 3 years.

Requirements

What You'll Do:

  • Be the lead officer for the successful delivery of the project outcomes.
  • Lead a team of HR Business Partners to identify opportunities and influence change and improvement in line with the Council's People Strategy and Business Plan.
  • Be a trusted advisor to the Directorate leadership teams providing HR expertise to influence change and improvement.
  • Work with the wider HR Partnering Team to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach is taken across all services in the Council.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with Directorate Management Teams.
  • In influencing change, act as a compliance champion, ensuring adherence to internal policies, procedures and external regulations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Educated to degree/Diploma level or equivalent relevant qualification, chartered membership of CIPD.
  • Substantial and demonstrable experience of working as an HR professional including detailed knowledge of employment law and HR policies and confidence and competence in the development and analysis of HR metrics to help drive measurable outcomes and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Proven track record in project management, with strong influencing and decision-making skills throughout all levels of the business, with a strong focus on innovation and creativity while working within an environment that requires good levels of compliance, governance.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR best practice and employment law and experience in managing and successfully delivering HR change programmes.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and negotiating skills and ability to build rapport and professional credibility.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with managers, employees and Trade Unions, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
