Job description

Interim Senior HR Advisor - Leeds
£20.57 per hour - 3-month interim assignmentHybrid working with 3 days a week on site37.5 hours per week (open to discussing part time working arrangements)

Here at Hays we are working with a national non-for-profit for the recruitment of a Interim Senior HR Advisor to support with a busy period. You will play a critical role in supporting the organisation and the People Team and you will lead on complex ER casework, including grievances, disciplinaries, restructures, and TUPE, while providing strategic and operational HR support to leaders across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role where the ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and be able to offer credible advice and manage sensitive issues with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a range of complex ER cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, and capability issues.
  • Provide expert HR advice to managers and staff, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and internal policies.
  • Coach and support leaders to proactively manage people issues.
  • Support the Head of People with complex casework and contribute to strategic HR initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all casework.
  • Contribute to the development of a respectful, inclusive, and values-driven culture.


What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in employee relations casework, ideally within a fast-paced or complex environment.
  • Strong generalist HR background with confidence in handling sensitive issues, and with experience in TUPE, restructures, and redundancy processes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and work independently with minimal supervision.


This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation that makes a genuine difference to their wider community, this is a 3-month interim assignment. The head office is based in Leeds (LS14) with parking on-site and you will be required to be onsite a minimum of 3 days a week but expected to be flexible to meet business needs. We would be open to discussing part-time working arrangements for this role with a minimum of 30 hours a week.
