Job description

Job Title: Senior HR Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing a full range of employer relations casework, engaging with unions, leading change consultation meetings, and conducting job evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Employer Relations Case Work: Handling grievances, disciplinary actions, sickness, absence, capability, performance issues, dismissals, and investigations.
  2. Union Engagement: Working with union members on individual employer relations cases and consultation meetings.
  3. Relationship Building: Building and maintaining strong relationships with union representatives.
  4. Change Consultation Meetings: Leading and facilitating consultation meetings regarding restructuring and redundancy processes with employees and stakeholders.
  5. Job Evaluation: Conducting job evaluations to determine appropriate grading and salary levels.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven experience in HR advisory roles, especially within complex unionized environments, including employer relations case work, consultation, and job evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in union engagement and change management.
  • Proficiency in job evaluation methodologies.
  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification.
Additional Details:

This role is initially offered on a temporary basis, working full-time via Hays, with flexibility for part-time (3-4 days per week). The position is based in Dorset and may require on-site presence three days per week, which is open for discussion.
