Senior HR Advisor - NHS Lanarkshire

Are you a passionate HR professional ready to make a significant impact within the NHS? We are seeking a dynamic Senior HR Advisor to join our Employee Relations Team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in improving and shaping our Employee Relations services, managing employee cases, and partnering with managers and trade unions to find solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert HR support and advice on employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
  2. Manage a caseload of employee relations cases from investigation to resolution.
  3. Develop and implement strategies to promote positive employee relations.
  4. Negotiate and influence outcomes to align with organisational goals.
  5. Train management teams on employee relations policies and best practices.
  6. Address employee concerns promptly, fostering a supportive environment.
  7. Participate in projects aimed at enhancing engagement and culture.
  8. Review employee relations practices regularly for continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CIPD membership.
  • Experience in HR advisory roles, especially in employee relations.
  • Knowledge of HR models like Ulrich (desirable).
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a varied caseload with attention to detail.
  • People-first approach and proactive mindset.
  • Team-oriented with collaborative skills.
  • Valid UK/EU/EEA driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Ongoing professional development in HR.
  • Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, sickness, and organisational change cases within NHS or healthcare settings.
  • Experience with NHS-specific HR initiatives.
  • Understanding of healthcare organizational dynamics.
  • Analytical and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and IT literacy.
Contract and Location

Permanent, full-time (37 hours/week). Based at Kirklands Hospital, NHS Lanarkshire. Hybrid working model with in-person meetings and training as required.
