Senior HPC Software Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Use proofing tools to identify and understand performance bottlenecks in large code bases, including libraries and HPC applications.
2. Optimize compiled code, including the use of compiler optimizations and the leverage of performant libraries.
3. Collaborate with software engineers to enable them to understand and improve code performance.
4. Build software tools for the most advanced HPC (High Performance Compute) and AI platforms in the world.
5. Innovate in production software environments continuously striving to optimize the workflow.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

1. Programming experience using C/C++ and/or Fortran.
2. Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to flexibly learn new technical skills and resolve novel and unforeseen issues.
3. Self-managing, being able to work with limited supervision on multiple complex tasks and deliver goals on time.
4. Good communication and team working skills, able to efficiently meet individual and team goals as part of a distributed team.
5. Experience of parallel languages and paradigms, such as OpenMP or MPI.
6. Prior experience of scripting such as Python, Shell, or R is desirable.
7. Knowledge of build systems, Spack and source code control systems is desirable.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or an equivalent.
