LAW Absolute is seeking an experienced housing lawyer for a temporary contract with a local authority in Berkshire. The role involves advising on housing and homelessness law, advocacy obligations in court, and managing junior staff, requiring proven local government experience and the ability to attend court in person.
LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in Berkshire, for an experienced housing lawyer to join them on a temporary basis for an initial 3-month contract with potential to extend.
You will advise the Council’s Housing Service in all aspects of Housing and Homelessness law, conducting advocacy for cases in the County Court and the Magistrates Court. As this is a senior role, you will also line manage junior staff.
Previous UK local government experience is essential. Ability to conduct advocacy in person in Berkshire when required is also essential.

The salary for this role is £55-£65/hour umbrella, depending on experience.
