Job summary

The Royal Household at Windsor Castle is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead a small team and oversee the day‑to‑day housekeeping operations across royal residences. Based in Windsor, you’ll motivate staff, ensure the highest standards of presentation, and support the broader housekeeping and events calendar.

You’ll plan rotas, monitor room preparation for functions and accommodation, travel to other royal residences as needed, and develop your team through on‑the‑job training.

The Master of the Household’s Department handles all aspects of hospitality across the Royal residences.

Based at Windsor Castle, you’ll supervise a small team of Housekeeping Assistants. In avaried and dynamic role, you’ll oversee the team’s day-to-day activities, and motivate them to achieve the highest standards of presentation time and time again.

Key responsibilities:
  • You'll monitor day-to-day duties and oversee the efficient preparation of rooms for functions, events and accommodation.
  • You’llplan andprioritisealongside a busy calendar of events, and whether managingrotas, logistics or resources, you’llensure your team are in placeand readyto support the housekeeping services.
  • You'll also support the wider department taking on front-of-house duties and supporting the busy event schedule.
  • People management will be a large part of the role too; you’ll support the ongoing personal development of a highly dedicated team.
  • You’ll also lead by example, training ‘on-the-job’ and guiding those around you to develop their skills.

And by encouraging ideas and adapting to each new situation, you’ll be a driving force behind the housekeeping team.

This is an accommodated position. Although principally based at Windsor, the role will see you and your team travelling to and working at other royal residencies throughout the year.

About you
Essential Criteria
  • You’ll have previous housekeeping experience already and, being committed to the industry, you’ll be looking to take the first step in your leadership career.
  • With an in-depth knowledge of housekeeping techniques and a meticulous eye for detail, you can be relied on to deliver to the highest standard.
  • You’re highly efficient and organised, able to balance multiple deadlines and adapt to changing needs, all of which will be critical to your success.
  • Your people management capability makes you stand out, and you’ll be passionate about developing and motivating those around you.
  • As a confident and professional communicator, you’ll also be able to build strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues alike.
  • As a natural team player, seeing the team working together seamlessly to achieve amazing results will give you the greatest satisfaction.
  • Confident in the use MS Office to help create rotas, checklists, and work plans, you’ll ensure tasks are clearly defined, well-coordinated, and delivered on time.
