UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) at Culham Campus, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, is seeking a Senior Hot Cell Technologist to oversee hot cell operations and project delivery. The role requires handling radioactive materials, ensuring safety, and coordinating with scientists and contractors in a high-hazard environment.

The post offers a full-time position with a competitive salary (£57,117) inclusive of specialist allowance, excellent pension, and flexible working options.

Qualifications

Engineering degree or equivalent experience in a high-hazard industry.
Experience handling radioactive materials, including remote operations in hot cells and waste processing.
Awareness of a Technical Management System and related procedures.

Responsibilities

Oversee operation and maintenance of hot cells ensuring regulatory compliance and timeliness.
Act as stakeholder for all hot cell related projects.
Lead on technical aspects to resolve complex requirements and mitigate risks.
Write, review, and manage technical documents for hot cells including safety and procurement specs.
Ensure MRF Operations Team are trained and competent to operate hot cell equipment.
