Senior Horizon Europe Analysis and Reporting Manager

Salary:£45,272

Hours:Full Time/ Part Time (Minimum 0.8 FTE)

Contract Type:Fixed Term Contract (2 Years)

Location:Polaris House, Swindon (Hybrid working available)

Job Overview:

This role sits within the International Directorate’s International Data, Evaluation, Analysis and Reporting team (IDEAR). The International Directorate is a pan-UKRI function, with IDEAR providing data, evidence and insights to understand UKRI’s international portfolio and the value this delivers towards UKRI’s vision and mission.

UKRI is responsible for delivering the Horizon Europe Guarantee on behalf of DSIT. This role will support the delivery of the Guarantee by providing analytical expertise for reporting, evaluation and strategic insights on the portfolio. The role will be integrated into IDEAR and work in close alignment with the team’s wider objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a strong evidence base, analytical support and insights on the Horizon Europe Guarantee portfolio.
  • Coordinate and manage UKRI’s obligations for Horizon Europe Guarantee reporting, International corporate and statutory reporting, particularly those which meet the requirements of many external stakeholders, including statutory bodies (e.g. OECD, DSIT, FCDO).
  • Develop individual and team expertise on the EU’s Horizon Europe data and dashboards, working closely with UKRI International’s Horizon Europe Guarantee team and DSIT, to support regular and ad hoc analysis needs on both the Guarantee and wider Horizon Europe portfolio.
  • Strengthen International’s reporting evidence and assurance processes, implementing best practice and embedding continuous improvement processes into business-as-usual.
  • Proactively develop new analyses and insights to meet the business needs of UKRI International and other key stakeholders.

About you

Essential

  • Strong quantitative analysis skills, with the ability to work across multiple complex datasets in order to generate new and valuable insights to support business need. (S & I)
  • Good stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with, and influence, both technical providers and specialists as well as non-technical users. (S & I)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to quickly understand new and complex issues, investigate and analyse problems systematically and then develop reasoned proposals for action. (S & I)
  • Ability to think creatively, offer new insights and generate new ideas with practical application, with experience of implementing best practice in the ongoing management of analytical processes. (S)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interpret and present information complex information in insightful and informative ways to a wide range of audiences. (I)
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to work flexibly and to plan, manage and deliver a portfolio of projects and activities with different timescales, priorities, and delivery mechanisms. (S & I)
