Senior Home Care Assistant : Skelmersdale Area

At Stocks Hall Homecare & Agency, we are looking for a genuinely caring and passionate person to join our well-established care team.

You will work with our committed staff to deliver the highest standards of individual care to our clients, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Person-centred care is at the core of what we do, allowing those we care for to flourish and our staff to feel immense satisfaction in their duties.

This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, with potential to work full time. The starting rate is £12.69 per hour, with enhancements at weekends and overtime.

The role of the Senior Care Assistant involves supporting the delivery of high-quality care services by line managing care workers. Candidates should have an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care and be willing to work towards NVQ Level 3. The role includes community-based work, assessing and reviewing individual services, and supervising care workers. Due to community-based duties, applicants must be drivers with access to their own vehicle.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support Community Carers in delivering care according to Care Plans.
  • Participate in the induction of new Community Carers.
  • Assess new and existing Service Users and develop Care Plans within specified timescales.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments for Service Users.
  • Perform Quality Monitoring visits.
  • Participate in 'on-call' duties as per rota.
  • Provide direct care during sickness and leave absences, meeting Care Plan requirements.
  • Assist Care Coordinators in organizing staff rotas.
