Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) in Birmingham is seeking a Highways Planner to join the transport planning consultancy. The role is suitable for a Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner with UK consultancy experience in development-focused transport planning, including TA/TS, Travel Plans, and junction modelling.

You will work on residential, commercial, mixed-use and infrastructure schemes, coordinating with clients and local authorities while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• CIHT membership (or working towards).
• UK transport planning consultancy experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of Transport Assessments and Transport Statements.
• Development and coordination of Travel Plans.
• Preparation of technical reports, drawings, and supporting data.
• Junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG.
• Liaison with clients, contractors, and local authorities.
• Delivery of high-quality outputs on time and within budget.
• Review and checking of junior team outputs.
• Support and mentoring of junior staff.
• Contribution to project delivery from feasibility through to detailed design.
• Site visits, surveys, and data collection.
• Preparation of written reports and presentations.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation.
• Supporting the growth of the Birmingham office.
