The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is seeking a Senior Highways Inspection Officer to lead a team of Highway Inspectors and ensure a safe, reliable highway network across the borough. The role includes overseeing planned and reactive inspections, contractor performance and budgets, and providing expert technical advice to residents, businesses and visitors.

Qualifications

• Qualified Highway Safety Inspector (C&G 6033/LANTRA) with NRSWA accreditation and experience in highway maintenance.
• Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
• Experience managing works orders, contractors, budgets and asset management systems such as Confirm or Street Manager.

Responsabilités

We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Highways Inspection Officer to join us!

This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £39,526 - £43,613 per annum.

The role:

As a Senior Highways Inspection Officer you will report to the Highways Contract and Maintenance Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Highway Inspectors and play a key role in maintaining a safe, reliable and resilient highway network for residents, businesses and visitors across the borough.

Your role will involve:

Lead and support a team of Highway Inspectors, ensuring inspections, workloads and performance targets are delivered effectively.

Undertake planned and reactive highway safety inspections, identifying defects and arranging appropriate remedial actions to keep the network safe.

Manage maintenance activities, contractor performance and budgets, ensuring works are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to a high standard.

Investigate and respond to customer enquiries, complaints and highway incidents, providing excellent customer service and technical advice.

Support the Council's statutory duties through effective asset management, highway claims investigations, utility coordination and emergency response activities.
