SLR has a fantastic new opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer with demonstrable consultancy experience in S278 in a general infrastructure background to join our collaborative and growing Transport Engineering team.

The role

Your key duties will involve the preparation of detailed design, feasibility studies, and scheme reports on a variety of projects. You will also have the opportunity to take responsibility for project management, budgeting, producing bills of quantities, and costings.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing assurance that scheme designs comply with specifications and the agreed programme.
2. Ensuring designs comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements.
3. Assessing environmental impacts of designs in collaboration with colleagues.
4. Managing relationships with clients, stakeholders, and third parties.
5. Coordinating with other team members involved in the design process.
6. Supporting junior team members working on projects.

We are seeking an engineer with consulting experience related to the design and management of the Section 278/38 process, and who has:

• Sound knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
• Effective negotiation skills with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and third parties.
• Detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
• Proficiency in Civils 3D.
