Job description

Are you an experienced Highways Electrician looking to take the next step in your career? Are you passionate about quality, safety, and delivering a professional service? As a Senior Highways Electrician, you’ll play a critical role in helping grow and delivering high-quality electrical inspection and testing services on lighting columns and highways infrastructure throughout the UK. This is generally a field-based role that will include travel, hands-on technical work, and client interaction.
Overview:

The main purpose of this role is to perform accurate electrical testing and inspection services on street lighting columns and other highway assets across the UK.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out periodic electrical testing of highway lighting columns to high standards and in accordance with procedures
  • Performing testing using multifunction electrical testing equipment
  • Maintaining and checking test equipment and ensuring calibrations are up to date
  • Recording accurate test results and asset data
  • Liaising with clients and delivering a professional service
  • Supporting and promoting Health & Safety best practices on all projects
  • Be the face of Kiwa CMT when on site with customers

Responsabilities:

Essential experience and qualifications:

  • HERS (Highway Electrical Registration Scheme) card for ‘Highways Electrician’
  • Experience in periodic electrical testing of highway lighting columns
  • Strong knowledge of highway electrical standards and testing techniques
  • Experience using multifunction electrical testing instruments
  • Experience recording test results electronically
  • Previous experience in a similar or related highways role
  • Communication is key for this role; you will be able to make an impact and work well within a team
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexible and willing to work away from home for short durations
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures, equipment calibration, and H&S documentation (RAMS, SWS, PPE, etc.)
