Job summary

Mayer Brown Limited is seeking a Senior/Principal Engineer to lead highways and drainage design for UK developments. You’ll collaborate with project managers, deliver compliant designs and assessments, and mentor junior staff while driving quality deliverables.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree, 5+ years in UK infrastructure, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civils 3D and drainage software. Hybrid working, chartership support, and a varied workload are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years in UK development infrastructure.
• Knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption and local standards.
• Experience in S38, S278 and S104 processes.
• Experience with drainage design and AutoCAD/Civils 3D.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop highway and drainage designs to support S104, S38, S278.
• Undertake technical assessments for developments.
• Explain concepts to colleagues and clients; check outputs by juniors.
• Prepare and present reports and drawings to stakeholders.
• Manage projects with supervision and ensure timely delivery.
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
