Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Highways Design Engineer for the National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework team, based in Salford. The role involves delivering highways designs, drawings, and technical documentation while mentoring junior colleagues and maintaining client relationships.

You will work within the highways design team to produce high-quality designs and support development of the team with your expertise.

Qualifications

• Member of a professional body IEng/CEng or working towards
• Possession of CSCS Card
• Holder of a full driving licence
• Enjoys collaborative working and building effective relationships
• Committed to delivering innovative engineering solutions with a disciplined approach

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and detailed designs for local and national authorities
• Produce design drawings and technical documentation meeting client specs
• Conduct on-site investigations and analyse data from maps/reports/tests/drawings
• Provide innovative engineering solutions and contribute to technical excellence
• Mentor junior staff and maintain strong client relationships

We're looking for a Senior Highways Design Engineer to joinour National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework team based in Salford within the highways sector. Location: Salford
Hours: 40 - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Highways Design Engineer, you'll be working within thehighways design team, supporting them in delivering highways designs, drawings, reports and supporting documentation. This is an exciting opportunity to join our collaborative highways design team, where you'll play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions for National Highways projects. You'll contribute to the production of high-quality designs, drawings, and technical documentation while supporting the development of junior colleagues and maintaining strong client relationships. Your day to day will include:

• Preparing preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with approved design procedures for local and national authorities
• Producing design drawings and technical documentation that satisfy client's technical specifications
• Conducting on site investigations and analysing data including maps, reports, tests and drawings
• Providing innovative solutions to engineering problems and contributing towards technical excellence across the team
• Overseeing and mentoring junior staff while maintaining good relations with clients and attending meetings as necessary
