Job description

You have an opportunity to be part of this in the role of Senior Highway Technician (Senior Highway Inspector), in the Routine Highway Maintenance team.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Highway Technician (Senior Highway Inspector), to support the Highways Engineer in preparation of the Annual Highway Inspection Programme, to undertake Highway Safety Inspections, carry out quality audits of Highway Inspectors works and other related surveys to assist the team to provide a good quality service. The post will be part of a strong and supportive team, all of whom work hard towards developing our Highway Asset Maintenance Service.

The position will support the Routine Highways Maintenance Engineer deliver, on time and to budget, the annual programmes of Highway Safety Inspections and Highway Maintenance Programmed Works.

The successful person will be expected to identify potential safety defects within the highway and instigate the appropriate remedial action, assist with the upkeep of Highway Inspection records, plans and documentation and assist with the identification of the Highways Maintenance Programmed Works, and carry out audits of Highway Inspectors work.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within an operational Highways Environment, and be well-organised, flexible, and have good communication skills.
