Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Senior Agent for the Lower Thames Crossing project in the UK. The role focuses on zero-harm delivery, sustainability, and effective management of resources, risk, and contractor performance on a high-profile highway scheme.

You will lead HSE initiatives, drive risk-based decision making, and coordinate with design and operations teams to ensure on-time, safe project delivery while upholding the company’s standards and governance.

Qualifications

• Holds a current driving license and CSCS card.
• SMSTS qualified.
• Strong work ethic and flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights.
• Good knowledge of highways construction details and temporary traffic management procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead periodic risk reviews and feed output to the Project Risk Register.
• Monitor the H&S Management System and drive improvements.
• Identify longer term training to support development.
• Oversee engineering control requirements and traffic management procedures.
• Set targets and KPIs in line with project objectives and monitor performance.
• Manage sub-contractor performance and resource allocation.
• Own handover documentation for the section.
• Support delivery of sustainability activities.
