Job Description

The opportunity: We are seeking a Senior High-Speed Digital Electronics Engineer to join Leonardo's GCAP development team, based in Edinburgh or Newcastle. GCAP is an innovative project designing a new radar sensor. You will work within a multidisciplinary team across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements to delivery. This is a great opportunity to join a growing program and a highly skilled team.

Responsibilities:
  • Design high-speed digital printed circuit boards utilizing FPGA, microprocessor, and high-speed interconnect technologies.
  • Support the hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis to integration, testing, and delivery.
  • Document work products and manage configuration control.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve system integration challenges.
Qualifications:
  • Degree (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, PhD, EngD) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Experience analyzing system requirements and applying them to hardware design.
  • Schematic capture experience.
  • Knowledge of high-speed serial communication protocols and architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, firmware, and software integration of microprocessor-based designs.
  • Structured approach to hardware design lifecycle.
  • Debugging, testing, and verification skills.
  • Ability to liaise with suppliers and communicate across disciplines.
Security Clearance:

Applicants must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC level), including at least 5 years of UK residency.
