Job description

Senior HGV Technician

Location: Hull
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Overtime paid at 1.3x

Shift: Days - 7am - 5pm and 8am - 6pm; 1/2 Saturdays 8am - 12pm

About your new company

My client is a large, family-run logistics company seeking a skilled Senior HGV Technician to lead a motivated team of technicians in their Hull workshop. As the workshop foreman, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop and support the technicians in their duties.

About your new Senior HGV Technician role
  1. Oversee technicians, manage stock levels, workloads, and schedule quality and compliance documentation, ensuring clear communication and teamwork.
  2. Perform daily vehicle/trailer repairs and inspections both in the workshop and at other sites.
  3. Maintain equipment and ancillary equipment according to manufacturer and company standards.
  4. Ensure all administration and documentation (service sheets, job cards, parts) meet standards, working with the admin team.
  5. Liaise with drivers and traffic department to address vehicle servicing, defects, and issues promptly.
  6. Possess a solid understanding of electrical systems, fleet management systems, and DVS compliance.
The successful Senior HGV Technician will have
  • Fully qualified LGV workshop technician with skills for career progression.
  • HGV Level Qualification.
  • Knowledge of IT, fleet management, and diagnostic systems.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • HGV license.
