Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd is seeking an experienced Master Technician to join our busy HGV transport workshop in Gloucester. You will diagnose, repair and service a range of heavy vehicles, ensuring high standards and first-time fixes.

The role offers an hourly rate up to £23, with flexibility on hours and overtime at enhanced rates. We value leadership, training others, and keeping vehicles on the road.

Qualifications

• Experience as Master Technician in an HGV workshop.
• Strong technical expertise in vehicle electrical systems.
• Experience leading workshop teams and providing training.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault find and repair vehicle electrical systems.
• Carry out timely repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Provide technical guidance and training to workshop technicians.
• Identify and diagnose defects on vehicles and ancillary equipment.
• Carry out six weekly inspections focusing on first-time fixes.
• Inspect and prepare vehicles for MOT beyond required standards.
• Perform electrical repairs on a range of specialist commercial vehicles.
• Repair 'damage' defects to maintain our brand image.
